Description

Purpose:
To give students authentic operational and engineering experience in a chemical plant. Allow the intern students to work alongside, and in support of, the Process Development Team in operations. Interaction and coordination with operators, managers, and the Process Improvement Team will occur during the co-op/internship period.

Essential Functions:
Assist in chemical plant operations, as needed, by Plant and Area Managers
Learn operational procedures and practices for numerous chemical processes
Identify new practices in manufacturing procedures to increase safety and efficiency
Work closely with facility managers, operators, and engineers to understand safety and quality practices
Create professional documents (Standard Operating Procedures, Forms, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, etc.) that define company manufacturing procedures and equipment
Support Process Improvement and Engineering Teams on development projects throughout the plant
Basic Qualifications for an Engineering Intern:**
A prospect, regardless of age and hiring source must meet the below criteria:

• Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university
• Be majoring in a science, technology, engineering, or math related degree
• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0 or higher
