With everything from fiber optic blowers to diesel powered underground bull-wheel cable pullers. Condux International is privately owned and has been manufacturing cable installation tools and equipment for over 30 years, working directly with the electrical contracting, electrical utility, IT and telecom industries.

Position Purpose: To contribute to the overall success of Condux International by managing assigned product portfolio, conducting relevant market research, defining product scope and business plan to lead, manage and increase profitable revenue for defined product portfolio.


Position Summary:
The Condux Product Manager leverages market experience and analytical skills to actively manage product lines from conception to commercialization – including ongoing product enhancement revisions, market development and pricing strategy. This position utilizes both internal and external resources to effectively produce and manage products to ensure appropriate growth and profit margin. Candidates must have experience with engineered products in telecom and utility markets and documented successes derived from product management experience in their background.


Essential Duties:
Responsible for each aspect outlined in the following pages. This Manager is expected to work as a collaborative, team-oriented member Condux International. Many of the responsibilities listed require the contribution from, and collaboration with, other members of the Sales team & Marketing department team members, engineering, as well as other departments and outside resources. In addition to objectives met, this position will be evaluated by positive influence, willingness to contribute and the quality of output.


Essential Areas of Responsibility:

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

  • To create market analysis, evaluation, and justification of new products, utilizing Stage Gate methodology, to ensure full pipeline of product development projects
  • To be accountable for product lines assigned including design improvements and extensions to better position within the market
  • To prioritize product development, in coordination with other Product Managers, to best utilize Engineering and Operational resources
  • To collaborate with Marketing personnel to create and execute marketing strategy for all assigned product lines
  • To analyze and authorize any deviations from standard pricing for managed product lines
  • To ensure product line budgets are achieved
  • To create and maintain monthly revenue & margin reports, as well as any other mechanism to report status and progress
  • To give occasional Technical and Application support
  • To demonstrate equipment at the Condux facility or at customer site, field trials or internal equipment testing, when needed

PRODUCT FORECAST

  • To collaborate with CRO , Marketing Department, Sales Managers, Product Managers and Technical Support personnel to evaluate future opportunities and product requirements
  • To evaluate historical reports and seasonality demands to aid in determination of monthly, quarterly, and annual product requirements
  • To communicate and collaborate with Operations Manager and Scheduler, regarding product forecast, sales opportunities, and product requirements
  • To make appropriate adjustments to forecast, as dictated by market conditions, opportunity reports and sales personnel
  • To effectively communicate product forecast to Customer Service and Sales personnel to aid in planning, quoting and product demonstrations
  • To proactively monitor product stocking in relation to usage and promote programs to clear stock of inactive inventory and manage inventory investment to economic levels and as product changes create less than current model elements
  • To achieve mutually agreed upon inventory turn ratios by product group and on a single product basis regarding capital equipment

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT / PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • To gather market intelligence and collaborate with Engineering regarding development of new product, extensions and enhancements of current lines
  • To spend time observing and collaborating with end-users to further identify needs or opportunities for product development and/or methodologies
  • To establish ROI calculations on new, to-be developed product or by enhancing current product with a substantial amount of time or monetary spend requirements

TRAINING

  • To manage Condux Rep & Distributor training programs to constantly improve, modernize and maintain quality to remain highly relevant and provide a high ROI for attendees
  • To create and/or improve programs/curriculum to educate internal Condux audiences on both industry and product
  • To collaborate in design of any future addition to Condux training facility or satellite facilities, as deemed appropriate
  • To effectively promote Condux training via website, catalog, e-mail campaigns, social media, trade shows and any other medium deemed appropriate – in conjunction with Marketing personnel
  • To create and manage Condux online training initiatives – product related, industry related, sales related
  • To develop and maintain Condux video library – specifically for product training and education – utilizing both internal and external resources – in conjunction with Marketing personnel
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

1. Proper and formal Product Management Experience (5 – 7 years)

2. Bachelor's degree in product design or engineering

3. Strong experience in a dynamic product management role

4. Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle

5. Highly effective cross-functional team management

6. Previous experience delivering finely-tuned product marketing strategies

7. Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills


Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's degree in product design or engineering

2. Previous software and web development experience

3. Proven experience working as a product developer in a non-managerial role

4. Demonstrable knowledge in SEM and online advertising


Physical Demands:

1. Must be able to remain in stationary position for various lengths of time

2. Must be able to operate various office equipment, photo and video equipment

3. Must be able to work in office and production environment

4. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively

1. Ability to simultaneously address multiple complex priorities and problems

4. Analyze, interpret and utilize data and technical information


Working Conditions:

1. Adheres to the time and attendance requirements as established by the department supervisor.

2. Conditions will vary from office to production environments

3. Up to 10% travel
