JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the successful completion of construction schedules and projects. Responsible for training and performance management of project foreman to ensure jobs are completed successfully on time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes, reviews, and submits all job paperwork, workorders, and labor reportsfor completeness and accuracy.
  • Communicates production, job status, delays, bad weather, or construction site emergencies to the Operations Manager.
  • Updates job status and all communication with customers in company’s CRM software.
  • Reports the quantity of all materials delivered to each job.
  • Maintains tools and trucks at the highest quality. Reports maintenance needs to management for approval.
  • Plans, monitors, and reviews job contributions of Foreman, Roofing Technicians and Subcontractors.
  • Directs,supervises and communicates job expectations and enforces policies and procedures to Foreman, Roofing Technicians, and Subcontractors.
  • Examines job sites and confirms completion of job and all punch lists.
  • Inspects job sites to maintain safety and ensures debris is disposed of and corrects unsafe practices to avoid both person and property accidents.
  • Schedules pick-up of excess job materials from job sites and submits request for return credits for excess job materials.
  • Studies job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Interprets and explains plans and contract terms to Foreman, Roofing Technicians, and Subcontractors.
  • Implements new or modified plans in response to delays, bad weather, or construction site emergencies.
  • Communicates with customers on status of projects.
  • Cuts felt, shingles, and strips of flashing; and fits them into angles formed by walls, vents, and intersecting roof surfaces.
  • Cements or nails flashing strips of metal or shingle over joints to make them watertight.
  • Installs partially overlapping layers of material over roof insulation surfaces, determining distance of roofing material overlap using chalk lines, gauges on shingling hatchets, or lines on shingles.
  • Cuts roofing paper to size using knives; and nail or staple roofing paper to roofs in overlapping strips to form bases for other materials.
  • Performs all other duties asassigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Experience - 3 or more years of construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. This role requires an above - average knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Other Qualifications - Valid driver’s license required. Daily travel required in a company car.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is constantly moving about jobsites 50-70% of the time. This position requires frequent traveling to job sites in an automobile and moving about on job sites and positioning self near to the ground to inspect work, as well as direct Foreman, Roofing Technicians and Subcontractors.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and other individuals in the office and on the worksite.
  • Individuals are required to have excellent comprehension skills and the ability to accurately communicate and converse with customers, coworkers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community to complete daily tasks. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and adjust as necessary.
  • Individuals occasionally operate power tools and need to ascend and descend from a ladder. The individual needs to occasionally move about at the worksite locations to move parts and equipment in and out of residential or commercial sites.
  • The individual occasionally positions self to install equipment, including underneath and above the equipment including spaces such as attics or roofs. They use their hands while performing all job duties. Some of the activities involve fine and gross manipulation of items.
  • They occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 60 pounds alone or up to 600 pounds with assistance of machinery and other individuals.
  • The individual must be capable of carrying and loading different parts and tools required to do the job.The individual will occasionallyoperate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals and heights.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Due to exposure of machinery and electrical currents and gas lines, employees are required to wear personal protective equipment. During warmer months, the required personal protective equipment may cause the employee to be very warm while working. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
