About us

Roy Talmage Builders has been involved in all phases of construction for over two decades. We have a long history in the building industry gaining hands-on experience in almost every aspect of the building process including within multiple construction disciplines. Building is our passion, we stand by our word and the work we do.

Our family has been involved in the construction and trade industry in southern Utah since the 1800’s and we're still here. We are invested in successfully building a better quality of life for everyone who chooses to call the southern Utah area home.

Roy Talmage Builders is looking for an experienced, talented, energetic, communitive and knowledgable indivdividual that is passionate about building to join our team. We love to build amazing custom homes for our awesome clients, semi-custom homes in our subivisions, multi-family and commerical projects. We love living and building in southern Utah and we are looking for someone to join our team that shares our same values and passion!

Skills/Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes across all trades.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate by verbal, written, or electronic means to all members of the project team
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and strategies for organizing all scopes, people, material, tools and equipment to manage the project successfully
  • Plan, direct, manage, oversee, and document all activities on the project site
  • Enforce the company's safety program ensuring the safety of all non-construction related people
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and how to successfully keep our jobsites safe
  • Implement, maintain, update, and communicate the project schedule
  • Implement, maintain, and enforce the company's quality control plan
  • Coordinate all required field inspections and maintain the inspections
  • Perform, upload, and maintain all company documentation requirements including, but not limited to, daily job reports, daily photographs, daily manpower reports, progress plans, client specifications, vendor specs, etc.
  • Assist in weekly coordination meetings
  • Review monthly pay applications for work in place in conjunction with office staff.

  • Demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate with the project team, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve positive results
  • Promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

  • Willingness to do what it takes to do the right thing.
  • Able to work in all elements of the outdoor environment which include the heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc.
  • Able to access all areas of the jobsite including stairs, scaffolding, ladders, elevation changes, etc.
  • Capable of working in physical positions that may include kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending over, etc.
  • Must be able to move, carry, or position items weighing up to 75 pounds.

Computer / Technology:

  • Proficient in the use of personal computers including iPad/tablet device
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related construction software
  • Basic knowledge of uploading and managing web based document storage
  • Have experinece in some type of project managment software such as Buildertrend, Co-construct, Pro-core, Blue beam etc.

Education / Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of field experience in the construction industry
  • OSHA 10 preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage and direct on-site project teams to successful completions. Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all of the activities of a construction site according to project blueprints, client specs and schedule plans. Their duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites.

Superintendent responsibilities include:

  • Keeping track of project progress, clearly communicating and maintaining the completion schedule.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and quality standards
  • Set performance goals and deadlines
  • Purchasing equipment and materials for each project
  • Keep track of material stock and orders
  • Quality control
  • Manage and schedule inspections
  • Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
  • Work with sub-contractors and trade partners to achieve our company's standards
  • Successfullly take projects from initial layout to client handover.

These responsibilities may vary based on each project.

Compensation

Depends on exerience, talents and skills, negotiable.
