Position Objective:

Greet customers, scan items, process through the point of sale system, and issue receipts all while showing the love of Jesus to our community. Clothing restocking, checking clothing rooms, and keeping the work area neat and tidy. Also, recycling and renewed goods processes in a faith-based non-profit environment.

Experience, Education, Requirements:

• Good Work Ethic
• Social and high level of energy
• Basic math and computer skills required in training
• Assist in customer focused department selling thrift goods
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist and lift items
• Attention to detail and excellent customer service
• Interest or Experience in working with reusable goods
• Coaching, teaching or teamwork experience desired
• Communicate professionally and clearly
• Ability to take directions from Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
• Welcoming customers, helping them locate item and recommendations.
• Operating POS system and ensure accurate pricing
• Collect payments whether in cash or credit
• Issue receipts, refunds, change or apply valid coupons
• Bagging, wrapping for applicable purchases
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
• Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
• Bag, box or gift-wrap packages
• Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
• Following all Hope Gospel Mission procedures
