Job Description Summary

ECD is seeking a detailed-oriented, resourceful and entrepreneurial-minded professional to lead an emerging project management office through a period of growth. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing projects related to grant-funded workstreams, resident outcome endeavors, and special projects for ECD leadership. The Sr. Project Manager will own and facilitate strategic priorities and projects: unpack broad cross-functional initiatives into specific workstreams, mobilize stakeholder teams define the scope, deliverables, and schedules, drive accountability and results across multiple teams and stakeholders to success, and supervise a small team of project managers and support staff to do the same. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and be able to work in an environment where a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Additionally, professionals passionate about community development and experience with social services project delivery are highly desired.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads a small team of project managers and support staff and drive success of all projects managed by the project management office
  • Oversees projects throughout all phases of delivery (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling, and closing) and serves as a point of contact for project(s) assigned
  • Outlines project charter, scope, estimated schedule/budget, staffing needs, risks, success measures, and the communication plan at Initiation
  • Defines work breakdown structure, refines tasks/resources/schedule/milestones/budget/success measures and any new risks/issues during Planning
  • Executes project, ensuring efforts with multiple resources remain in synergy, raising roadblocks/issues and facilitating resolutions, and communicating progress on schedule/milestone(s)/budget
  • Monitors delivery, adjusting schedules/funding/targets as needed, as well as modifying direction if needed to reach project goals or re-align with Enterprise activities
  • Develops materials post-delivery to close out projects, performs lessons learned activities and creates a reference for project replication or risk considerations
  • Provides routine status updates and reports to executives and funders and develops supporting informational materials if requested

Qualifications/Skills Desired

  • Minimum of five years of project and/or performance management experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role
  • Current Project Management Institute (PMI) Certified, or Project Management Professional (PMP) strongly preferred
  • Exceptional multitasking and prioritizing skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented, comfortable owning workstreams, and leading initiatives autonomously
  • Able to coordinate the resolution of highly complex problems and tasks
  • Communicate effectively, both written and orally, with various levels of leadership, stakeholders, and teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships between business units to support a singular mission
  • Entrepreneurial approach to building a project management office.
  • Able to direct workload in a matrix reporting environment
  • Experience with project management and agile delivery software
  • Excellent relationship management, interpersonal and negotiating skills and ability to work in a fast-moving organization with rapidly changing priorities
  • Tangible analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hunger for knowledge and challenges
  • Demonstrate a high amount of empathy, responsibility, coupled with a deep sense of ownership and personal responsibility
  • Experience producing standard grant reports and other project status updates.
