Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is seeking a dynamic individual to join our growing organization as a Staff Accountant.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation of financial statements for assigned departments/sites including detailed income statements. Will work with the Financial Controller and Practice Directors on special projects.
Duties Include (but not limited to):

• Prepare and maintain work papers on balance sheet accounts for assigned PCI department/sites; reconcile balances with general ledger on a monthly basis
• Prepare necessary journal entries and recurring journal entries for assigned PCI departments
• Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned PCI departments/sites
• Prepare detailed departmental income statements monthly with comparison of actual to budget
• Prepare an annual operating budget for assigned entities
• Prepare calculations for quarterly distribution of income to physicians in assigned departments/sites
• Process refund checks to patients and insurance companies
• Maintain fixed asset schedules for certain assigned entities, coordinating asset tags with Building/Maintenance Manager
• Prepare various cost/financial analyses as assigned
• Present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers

Qualifications:

• The leading candidate will have a BA in Accounting or related field; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

The qualified candidate will be customer focused and will possess the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. Must have a high level of comfort and become proficient in utilizing computer systems.
The successful candidate will have the ability to multi-task and demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times, maintain patient confidentiality, be patient focused, possess excellent communication skills, and must work well with team members.
