Expectations for Brown Square servers will include a passion and commitment to providing personalized, friendly engagement with our customers to ensure they feel welcomed and know they are our priority, knowledge of the food and beverages offered on our menus, attention to concerns about food allergies or styles of food preparation, attention to detail and pace on placing orders to ensure customers receive their food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring tables are maintained in an appropriate manner for a pleasant dining experience. Servers will also coordinate all aspects associated with customers paying their bills, keeping track of receipts and tips (you might want to insert the name of the system you use here?). In addition to being responsible for the care of our guests, servers will help maintain a clean and sanitary environment which might also include bussing dishes, sweeping floors, wiping menus and completing other opening or closing tasks.

Server duties and responsibilities

• Verify identification and age requirements of guests
• Process payment from guests
• Clean tables, silverware, and maintain a clean work environment
• Make suggestions based on guests tastes and preferences
• Possess accurate knowledge of both food and drink menus
• Open and maintain accurate guest checks throughout their shift
• Build a rapport with guests to create a positive atmosphere
• Possess (or acquire) and maintain proper training/certifications

Server skills and qualifications

• Knowledge of applicable laws and requirements
• Understanding or unique and complementary flavor pairings
• Impeccable guests service and social perceptiveness
• Ability to evaluate guest satisfaction and responsiveness
• Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol
• Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments
• Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
