POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Controller who will be responsible for overseeing financial statements like balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting & forecasting preparation. The ideal candidate should have Public Accountant or CPA experience with strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Controller will help develop, implement, and interpret the company's accounting and financial policies, procedures, and systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, and statements to understand the financial state of the business.
• Maintain and update budgets biweekly.
• Attendance and participation at monthly and quarterly ‘Strategy & Financial Review’.
• Assist with acquisition and integration of tuck-in targets.
• Maintain knowledge of the Phoenix market, trends, and local competitors.
• Develop and maintain the reporting frameworks to optimize business decisions.
• Keep up to date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas.
• Participate in the annual budget planning to ensure that the company meets its goals.
• Understand the financials of the business in order to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing.
• Assurance of submission of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual Management packets.
• Perform additional high-profile ad-hoc analyses and decision support as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA or BS degree required (Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics).
• 3-6 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, and planning for an operational unit or in a corporate finance setting is required.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience working with QuickBooks (required) / Sage Intacct (preferred).
• Expert level skill with Excel and robust financial modeling skills.
• Experience in an equity-backed company or similar environment is preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to make confident, fact-based decisions.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal style, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working within MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Pay: $95,000.00 - $236,186.00 per year
