Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Department: Administration

Manage the Human Resource activities of the organization to ensure that personnel resources are maximized to meet the needs of the organization and to create an atmosphere for employee commitment to the success of the company. Ensure that all employees (Leadership and plant personnel) can function in an environment which is fair, consistent and respectful of their contribution focusing on doing the right things. Develop cutting edge, world class best practices and strategic leadership as a member of the Sr. Leadership Team.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ongoing assessment of labor force pool. Work with area schools and agencies involved in job development programs for the currently unemployed. Continually assess temporary agencies for quality of applicants presented.
  • Ensure that all benefits are administered effectively and oversee annual enrollment process. Work with President and Owner with benefit design.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and inform leadership of legislation that may impact the business. Defend company with any EEOC or other charges.
  • Serve as a member of the Leadership Team in meeting annual HR goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that training plans are executed based on assessments of business needs and the Pay for Skills program is effective.
  • Work with Safety personnel to ensure compliance and be an active member of the facility Safety Team.
  • Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships and communications with all levels to assure positive employee/management relations.
  • Oversight of recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce.
  • Leads company compliance with government reporting requirements including EEO, ADA, FMLA, VETS reporting and Affirmative Action.
  • Directs and manages organization development that addresses succession planning, workforce development and mentorship process.
  • Review compensation programs at regular intervals to gauge and maintain competitiveness including hourly wage surveys and exempt compensation.
  • Assure all departmental actions are supportive of all company objectives and policies are accomplished in a fair, consistent and non-discriminatory manner focusing on doing the right things in decision making.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality of all privileged information relating to employees, products or management of the company.
  • Facilitate the organization’s monthly newsletter to enhance communication at all levels.
  • Set up and coordinate monthly Employee Birthday roundtable sessions.
  • Ensure that bi-annual Service Awards luncheons are conducted.
  • Manage ADP employee updates to include salary adjustments and employee information.
  • Oversee annual and mid-year performance management process.
  • Oversee and evaluate annual wellness program.
  • Ensure timely and regular updates to employee handbook.
  • Manage job posting process and interviews for internal and external administrative and exempt positions.

Basic Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum: Bachelors degree in business or a related field, PHR or SPHR Certification

Preferred: Masters in HR or business field. Experience recruiting various engineering and manufacturing talent.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Minimum: 5 years experience in Human Resource management

Preferred: More than 8 years of related Human Resource management experience in a manufacturing setting.
